Residents of Regina and the surrounding areas (Pense, Grand Coulee, Belle Plaine) are being asked to leave the taps off at home as much as possible until further notice due to a shut-down at the Buffalo Pound water treatment plant. The plant has been shut down since 4:00 a.m. Thursday morning. It is expected to take at least a full day to fix now that the crews have identified what caused the trouble (an unnamed electrical problem).
Area residents are being asked to avoid any extraneous water usage and delay the running of dishwashers or washing machines. City staff are stressing that the quality and safety of the water supply haven't been damaged.
