Grain Bag Roller

The Moose Jaw River Watershed Stewards (MJRWS) have purchased a grain bag roller to help porducers roll up their grain bag plastic for recycling instead of burning it.

If you are interested in utilizing the grain bag roller please call the R.M. office @ 345-2303. We will make a list of those interested. If enough interest is expressed the MJRWS will bring the roller to our municipality. A nominal fee will be charged.

Accepted Materials @ Ag Plastic Round-Up Collection Days

Grain Bags:

- Please clean off as much soil, mud and grain as possible. Although this is easy to deal with, it adds weight to the plastic and therefore increases handling costs when shipping to the recycling facility.

- Please roll plastic into a log-type form. Campact materials make for easier transport, lower cost and easier for everyone to handle.

- Do no roll any foreign materials with the grain bag. Keep grain bags and twine separate as they will be sorted at the collection day.

- As the grain bags are emptied and stored, store them on wooden pallets to prevent freezing solid to the ground. Place tires on top of items to prevent them from blowing away. Tires will not be accepted at the collection day.
