The 2020 clubroot monitoring program incorporates on-farm testing, external reporting of clubroot by producers and agrologists, and in-field surveillance through the general canola disease survey and a clubroot-specific survey in high-risk areas of the province. DNA-based testing can be used to detect low levels of the clubroot pathogen. Early detection and proactive clubroot management strategies can be used to keep spore levels low and minimize yield losses.
To encourage testing, SaskCanola and the Minisitry of Agricultrue are offering fall clubroot soil testing to producers across the province. Taking part in this program has value for you as an individual producer, and also provides value for your fellow Saskatchewan canola producers. The $100 value of this test is covered by SaskCanola.
