Utility/Equipment Operator
Terms of Employment: Full Time Position
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on equipment and other municipal infrastructure
- Seasonal maintenance activities, including snow removal, mowing and grading
- Road, sign and culvert maintenance
- Rock picking, dust control and landfill operations
- Shop work, which includes maintenance of equipment and welding
- Any other duties that may arise in the day-to-day operations of the municipality
- Health benefits and pension available
- Hours of work: 40 hours per week (December to March); 50 hours per week (April to November)
Qualifications:
- Secondary Education Diploma or GED Certificate
- Valid driver’s license
- Power Mobile Equipment Certification or be willing to obtain
- Capable of working with a minimum or no supervision
- Able to perform physical labour and heavy lifting
Asset Qualifications:
- Class 1A driver’s license
- Mechanical Skills
- Road Building Experience
- Knowledge in the various operations of municipal equipment and its maintenance
